Burgers, Beers and Brats, it must be (Indian) Summer in San Francisco. Aaron is still rocking the grill and I am still benefiting from the economic downturn

I'd like to dedicate this post to my dad Ed.

Katie and I coordinated our outfits on Saturday. Who wore it better?

Whoa. Has it been 10 days already? And what day is it exactly? We are not sure, but 33 hours of travel later and we are back from South Africa. Sorry about the lack of those promised updates...game lodges in the middle of African Bush don't have wireless. Go figure. Anyway, the trip was amazing. We have beautiful pics and exciting stories to share and we will definitely get to all of that just as soon as we can. In the meantime, enjoy a few of our favorites and stay tuned for more. If anyone would like a private screening of all 1,300 photos that can be arranged as well.
The list is complete and we are off! We have a 26 hour journey ahead of us, but after that we will try to keep you updated from the Southern Hemisphere. Check back for some lion and elephant pics soon!

So, ICYMI, we are going to South Africa. On Wednesday. This Wednesday, the day after tomorrow. It's mind boggling since the planning began almost exactly two years ago. Even more mind boggling is that we are packed. Two days early! For those of you who know me (and all of you do or you wouldn't be reading this babble), you know that I am always the girl who is frantically packing the morning of her trip, knowing full well that she will need to buy some essentials when she arrives at her destination due to poor planning, so the fact that we are packed two days early is somewhat of a shift in our universe.
As we were lining our bags up at the top of the stairs, it struck me as funny how different the luggage situation is for this trip vs. our first big trip four years ago, our honeymoon. Granted, if it were not for that damn 40 pound weight restriction, we'd probably have the same set up as before.

It was a gorgous and peacful sunset at Crissy Field tonight...right up until the rescue vehicles, helicopters and boats started swarming the waters underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. No word out there on what the problem was, but we are assuming it was one of the estimated people that jumps off the bridge every two weeks. Sad. But on a lighter note, enjoy the beautiful shots.
More trip prep today! We picked up a 100 - 400MM Zoom Lens and took a little fieldtrip to Cavallo Point to practice. Really windy and foggy, but amazing.
